R.F.I. stands for Rescue Force International.

It is a private company run by <xx>, a multi-billionaire who made his money in the defense industry. <xx> used to be considered one of the greediest most ruthless business men in the world, the one day he suffered some sort of accident and was paralyzed from the waist down.

After that day he finished out his contracts and went into the rescue "business". He recruits supers, trains them, and then sends them out on humanitarian aid missions.

He refuses to speak of the accident that left him paralyzed and what caused his sudden change of heart.
